The State of Michigan through MDCH will once again be providing small operating grants to free clinics in 2010.
A new report on the state of the uninsured in Michigan will be available shortly.
The MDCH has prepared a working document as to their insights on health reform. View it here. A report from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation was also recommended for information on the statistical basis for health reform. "Health Reform: The Cost of Failure"
An organization of Safety Net Providers, including FCOM, MPCA, MHA and many others, is being assembled with the aid of MDCH. The group is collaborating to issue a brief on the effects of the economic downturn on the healthcare safety net in Michigan. The plan is for this group to continue meeting and working towards common goals in the future. A survey of Michigan free clinics was conducted to aid in this project.
