This year we are inviting all free clinics, not just members. Many clinics have so changed their service delivery model and their patient criteria. How has that been helpful? How did your Boards make the decision? We really have so much to talk about! We would love to see you!
Agenda Discussion and vote on a new position statement: Clean Water as a Right.
Free Clinics of Michigan believes that access to clean and affordable water is a human right. Clean water is necessary for a healthy life. It should be held in trust, free of privitization. We will advocate for access to, protection of, and conservation of water.
Presentations Ryan Grinell from Primary Care Network - Healthy Michigan Waiver explanation The issues are: what are the implications for our clinics? what does it mean for Healthy Michigan enrollees? how wil the November elections potentially affect health issues?
State Representative Rob Wittenberg and Congressman Sandy Levin - Expanding the free clinic presence at city, county, state and federal levels. The issues are: how to we tell our story to our neighbors, cities, counties, state, and Federal government? what would be useful for our neighbors and politicians to know?
FCOM member panel - The Changing Services of Free Clinics after ACA/HM. We have representatives from 4 clinics explaining the changes they have made and why.
FCOM members - Round Robin snapshots of our clinics. The questions for each clinic at the conference are: 1- How are you handling counseling/mental health assistance? Are you experiencing a rise in requests or need for this service? 2. Do you provide dental care? If not, where do you direct your patients? 3. Has the number of patients leveled off? Stayed the same? Increased? 4. Do you have a sustainability plan or future plans for the clinic? 5. Are you collaborating wit neighboring clinics, FQHCs, and/or health systems to coordinate and provide care for your patients that you cannot provide?
